첫번째 코리언어메리칸인 서재필박사가 시민권을 취득한 1890년 6월 19일을 기념하는 행사가 오는 19일 오전 11시부터 델라웨어카운티 미디아시 서재필기념관에서 열린다.
코리언어메리칸시민의 날 행사(Korean American Citizenship Celebration)는 서재필기념재단이 주최하고 펜실베니아주지사 아시아태평양계 미국인 자문위원회( Governor Advisory Commission of Asian Pacific American Affairs)가 후원한다.
서재필재단은 지역 정치인들과 한인 단체장, 동포들을 초청하고 뉴저지 앤디김(Andy Kim) 연방하원의원, 펜주 브라이언 피츠패트릭(Brian Fitzpatrick) 연방하원 , 데이빗 오(David Oh) 필라시의원, 나디아 한(Nydia Han) 6 abc 앵커 등이 참석할 예정이다.
Korean American Citizenship Celebration
"KOREAN AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP DAY" - June 19
We will be celebrating the "Korean American Citizenship Day" on June 19 (Sat) at the Philip Jaisohn Memorial House, 100 E. Lincoln St., Media, PA 19063, to commemorate the 131st anniversary of Dr. Philip Jaisohn's US citizenship on June 19, 1890.
With the difficult time that Asian American community is facing today, it is important to celebrate the richness of all Asian/Korean American history that our young generation would be proud of. To celebrate this occasion, we expect to have select resolutions and citations along with Korean cultural performances.
This event is cosponsored by the Pennsylvania Governor's Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs.
